A bird's eye view on change, unintended consequences, displacement, adaptation & resiliency.
Our SWIFT project gets underway during the final week of October in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. This is the first phase of a project focussing on the plight of the endangered Chimney Swift, considering both the bird and broader issues within the community. We'll be raising awareness about the swift through a set of multiples available at various businesses around the core (T-shirts at Wild Rose and narrative postcards at The Bookshelf, for example) and have designed a public intervention for Saturday, October 29th in St. George's Square using an iconic bird silhouette that will be distributed in the form of stencils to mark specific areas in the downtown. Please join us on the square beginning at 11am, get a stencil, contribute to the marking of the streets and also learn more about the plight of the Chimney Swift.
This is a commissioned project which is part of the Musagetes Foundations 1mile2 initiative.
