« We Are Conditioned to Our Fate? | Kamloops: Sites of Culture »
10 October 2012
DodoLab wants to know what youth in Kamloops think about the place of culture, art, and creativity in their lives and in their community. What are the places young people consider to be their sites of culture? What exists in the community that they feel has the potential to be enriched or transformed? What places do they value but feel are often overlooked by others? And what is missing?
DodoLab will host three focussed workshops at KAG with youth from the community to creatively map and identify these places of culture (both those that already exist and those that are hoped for) and the outcomes of these workshops will guide DodoLab artists Lisa Hirmer and Andrew Hunter on their documentary explorations of the city. On Saturday, October 20th, youth from the workshops can join DodoLab for a creative intervention at the Farmer's Market and at KAG designed to share their ideas and engage directly with the public. DodoLab's goal is to encourage and stimulate dialogue about critical issues in communities.
