IDEAS OF CANADA (PART TWO)
HARBOURFRONT CENTRE ART GALLERY TORONTO, CANADA  |  2012
Ideas of Canada is an exploration of ideas about Canada and the symbols that continue to shape and define national identity. Through iconography and objects, the complexities of contemporary Canadian identity and its representation were brought into conversation with the public using playful surveys during the first part of the project. In this exhibition the ideas collected were shared back in similar playful ways. The project aimed to find a more varied and nuanced conception what it means to be living in this place and ultimately questioned the viability of a static, singular notions of a national identity.
