IDEAS OF CANADA (PART ONE)
HARBOURFRONT CENTRE ART GALLERY
TORONTO, CANADA  |  2011

Ideas of Canada is an exploration of ideas about the country and the icons and symbols that continue to shape and define national identity. Through strange dioramas that played with objects and iconography commonly associated with ideas of “Canada” the project invited participants to vote on which dioramas to slowly obscure by adding small tokens into the diorama. The project aimed to challenge overly simplified ideas of what it means to live in Canada suggesting instead that we need to engage with the complex histories and contemporary realities of this nation.
